Marton Village

David Coxshall from Suffolk used the "Contact" link on this website to request a copy of Richard Lawton's book. He says "My wife Janet, who was Janet Thompson was born in Marton. Her parents were Russell and Doris Thompson who lived there most of their married life. Janet went to School in Marton and Pickering and we were married in Marton Chapel in 1968"

In David's hall in Suffolk, is a painting of the Aspens in Marton, painted by George Herbert Cook, who lived opposite.

David kindly sent an image of the painting which can be seen above.

When David and Janet received their copy of the book they were delighted to find that Janet's mother and father featured in one of the group photographs.
